The Reinsurance Treaty Back‑Up Technician provides technical and administrative support to the Treaty Broking team across the full placement and renewal cycle. The role ensures that all documentation, data, and processing activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures, regulatory requirements, and London Market standards. This position supports treaty placements across worldwide territories, including but not limited to Europe, North America, LATAM, APAC, and emerging markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Documentation & Processing
    • Prepare, review, and maintain treaty placement documentation (MRCs, endorsements, Evidence of Cover, schedules) for global treaty programmes.
    • Ensure documentation meets internal quality standards and London Market requirements.
    • Process premiums, closings, and submissions accurately within required timeframes.
    • Maintain complete and accurate records within internal systems and placement platforms.
  • Broker Support
    • Assist brokers with the preparation of market presentations, renewal packs, and placement materials for international treaty business.
    • Support the collation, validation, and formatting of client data, exposure information, and underwriting submissions.
    • Track placement progress, market responses, line sizes, and subjectivities.
    • Provide administrative support for client and market meetings, including document preparation and follow‑up actions.
  • Client & Market Interaction
    • Act as a point of contact for routine operational queries from clients, brokers, and underwriters across multiple global markets.
    • Liaise with internal departments (Accounts, Compliance, Operations) to ensure smooth processing and issue resolution.
    • Support the coordination of information flow between global offices, brokers, and external stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Governance
    • Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements, company policies, and audit standards.
    • Maintain accurate and complete audit trails for all documentation and processing tasks.
    • Support internal and external audit requests as required.
    • Adhere to data protection, confidentiality, and operational risk management procedures.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Experience in a London Market technical role, within reinsurance or treaty broking.
  • Knowledge of global reinsurance markets and treaty structures.
  • Familiarity with broking and placement systems.
  • Understanding of MRCs, endorsements, and reinsurance documentation.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with data.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
