Alongside this, we also run international projects in India, but the primary fundraising focus for this role will be the UK. NaariSamata is at a pivotal growth stage. We currently operate with a small income base and a volunteer-led structure. Reaching £50,000+ in annual income will unlock access to major UK funders and enable us to scale our impact sustainably.
We are seeking an experienced UK fundraising professional to help us move from early-stage fundraising to a robust, strategic, and sustainable income model. The role is intentionally focused for the first 3 months, during which you will:
- Lead on strategy development
- Build core fundraising infrastructure
- Begin delivering tangible fundraising outcomes
Once the foundations are in place and a wider fundraising team is established, the role can evolve with adjusted time commitment and clearer delegation.
Time Commitment: 10–15 hours per week for the first 3 months with flexible scheduling. There is potential to continue in a strategic or advisory capacity once systems and team are in place.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Fundraising Leadership
- Develop and refine NaariSamata’s UK-focused fundraising strategy
- Advise the CEO and board on income growth priorities and realistic targets
- Create clear pathways towards £50K+ annual income
- Grants & Trusts
- Lead applications to UK trusts, foundations, and community funders
- Build reusable grant templates and a content library
- Strengthen cases for support for homelessness, wellbeing, and community cohesion work
- Corporate & Community Partnerships
- Develop an early-stage corporate partnerships pipeline
- Explore CSR, sponsorship, and employee volunteering opportunities
- Shape partnership offers aligned with dignity kits, podcasts, and coffee mornings
- Infrastructure & Sustainability
- Build a funder database and application tracking system
- Establish stewardship and reporting frameworks
- Document fundraising processes to support future team members
What Success Looks Like (Initial Phase)
By the end of the focused first phase, you will have:
- A clear, board-aligned fundraising strategy
- Active grant submissions and partnership conversations underway
- Core systems in place for tracking, reporting, and stewardship
- A roadmap for building and resourcing a small fundraising team

Essential Experience
- 5+ years’ professional fundraising experience in the UK charity sector
- Strong track record with trusts and foundations
- Experience working with small or growing charities
