We give technical teams the freedom of code with the speed of no-code, so they can automate faster, smarter, and without limits. Backed by a fiercely inventive community and 500+ builder-approved integrations, we’re changing the way people bring systems together and scale ideas for impact.

Since our founding in 2019, we’ve grown into a diverse team of over 260 - working across Europe and the US, connected by a shared builder spirit and with our centre of gravity in Berlin. Along the way, we’ve:

  • Cultivated a community of more than 650,000 active developers and builders
  • Earned 190K+ GitHub stars, making us one of the world’s Top 40 most popular projects
  • Backed by top investors, from Sequoia’s first German seed to our SAP's recent strategic investment - bringing us to a $5.2bn valuation

As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure & Networking Engineer your main goal will be to strengthen the cloud infrastructure and networking foundations that power n8n Cloud as we scale across Azure regions, reduce single-person ownership risk, and prepare for future multi-cloud expansion. To do so, you’ll work hands-on across platform engineering, networking, reliability, and architecture to help n8n Cloud scale securely, reliably, and sustainably:

BUILD & OPERATE CLOUD INFRASTRUCTURE
  • Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes, Terraform, and modern deployment tooling.
  • Support regional rollouts and platform improvements as n8n Cloud scales from hundreds of thousands toward millions of users.
  • Improve existing infrastructure pain points through pragmatic, hands-on engineering rather than simply maintaining the status quo.
STRENGTHEN NETWORKING FOUNDATIONS
  • Apply deep production networking expertise to multi-region topology, ingress and egress, peering, routing, DNS, TLS, and connectivity patterns.
  • Improve Kubernetes networking patterns across CNI, ingress controllers and related cloud-native infrastructure layers.
  • Help shape secure, scalable network architecture as we expand across Azure regions and evaluate additional cloud providers.
IMPROVE RELIABILITY, SECURITY & OBSERVABILITY
  • Contribute to on-call, incident response, performance tuning, and critical bug fixes across network and platform systems.
  • Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability so the team can diagnose issues faster and reduce operational toil.
  • Strengthen our security posture through automation, segmentation, DDoS/WAF considerations, and zero-trust principles where relevant.
DRIVE CROSS-FUNCTIONAL PLATFORM STRATEGY
  • Partner closely with Cloud engineers, Product teams, Security, Support, Customer Success, Sales, and cloud provider teams on infrastructure initiatives.
  • Lead significant infrastructure projects independently, such as new region rollouts, platform components, or cross-team technical initiatives.
  • Bring senior technical judgement to architecture decisions, trade-offs, and the evolution of our multi-region and multi-cloud platform strategy.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Cloud infrastructure experience: You have hands-on experience managing and deploying infrastructure on Azure, or alternatively GCP or AWS.
  • Infrastructure design: You have designed and scaled cloud-native infrastructure for complex platforms used by many users.
  • Production networking expertise: You have strong experience with VNets/VPCs, peering, routing, network topologies, DNS, load balancing, TLS, ingress/egress, and service mesh at meaningful scale.
  • Kubernetes: You have strong production experience with Kubernetes, including Kubernetes networking concepts such as CNI, ingress controllers, and service mesh.
  • Infrastructure as Code: You’re confident using Terraform and IaC practices to build scalable, repeatable, and reliable cloud infrastructure.
  • Security-first mindset: You know how to build secure, resilient systems using cloud, distributed systems, and infrastructure best practices.
  • CI/CD and build systems: You have a strong grasp of CI/CD pipelines, build processes, and deployment workflows.
  • Observability and performance: You have experience with monitoring, alerting, observability, and performance tuning in production environments.
  • Growth mindset: You’re curious, resourceful, and comfortable saying “I don’t know yet, but I’ll find out.”
Nice-to-haves
  • Azure experience: You have hands-on experience building or operating infrastructure on Azure.
  • Multi-cloud networking: You have experience with AWS or GCP networking in addition to Azure.
  • Startup experience: You’ve worked in a scrappy startup, high-trust small team, or entrepreneurial environment.

At n8n, you’ll work on infrastructure and networking challenges that directly shape the next stage of our growth. n8n Cloud is scaling from 500k toward 10M users, expanding into new Azure regions, and evaluating additional cloud providers — and you’ll help build the network and platform foundations that make that possible.

You’ll join a small, high-trust Cloud Platform team with strong IC autonomy, shared ownership, and real influence over architectural decisions. This is not maintenance work on a finished platform: you’ll help solve genuine scale, reliability, security, and multi-region infrastructure problems alongside another senior engineer, while growing toward IC5 or a future tech-lead track.

Sound like a challenge you’re excited to take on? Apply now — and help us build the future of AI workflow orchestration.

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If n8n uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.

Showcase Your Projects
