Your main goal will be to take full ownership of n8n’s end‑to‑end accounting operations and build a scalable, automated, and globally compliant finance foundation that supports our hyper‑growth.

• Lead the insourcing of accounting activities to build an internal, scalable accounting foundation.
• Own the full accounting cycle — from AP/AR to GL, assets, accruals, and deferrals — ensuring fast, accurate monthly closes.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements under HGB and coordinate with tax advisors on filings, audits, and statutory reporting.

• Oversee vendor payments, bank reconciliations, and financial control checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Review employee reimbursements and partner with People Ops and our payroll provider to ensure correct, timely payroll.
• Maintain short‑and mid‑term cash visibility and support ongoing treasury forecasting.

• Contribute to consolidation and reporting across our international entities with consistent accounting treatment.
• Develop and document intercompany processes, including cross‑charges and transfer‑pricing workflows.
• Support multi‑currency operations through accurate FX accounting and reporting.

• Coordinate VAT/GST filings across jurisdictions and maintain audit‑ready compliance documentation.
• Support global tax registrations and ensure timely compliance as we enter new markets.
• Maintain organized, documented processes for all statutory and compliance workflows.

• Evaluate and implement modern accounting tools to build a highly automated finance tech stack.
• Identify automation opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintain clear finance documentation to support onboarding, scalability, and continuous improvement.

• Must‑haves
• Extensive Accounting Experience: You bring 7+ years in accounting, including time in a fast‑paced, high‑growth tech or SaaS company.
• SaaS Model Expertise: You understand recurring revenue, billing models, and revenue recognition nuances.
• German GAAP & Tax Knowledge: You have strong HGB expertise and hands‑on experience preparing financial statements.
• International Accounting Exposure: You’ve worked with multi‑entity structures, intercompany processes, and consolidations.
• Modern Tooling Proficiency: You’re comfortable with systems like DATEV, NetSuite, and AP/AR automation tools.
• Compliance Knowledge: You understand VAT/GST, transfer pricing, and statutory reporting.
• Analytical & Detail‑Oriented: You spot issues early, communicate clearly, and deliver reliable financial outputs.
• Strong Communication Skills: You collaborate effectively with both finance and non‑finance teams.
• English Fluency: You communicate confidently in English, both written and spoken.

• Relevant Education or Training: You may have a degree in Finance/Accounting or commercial training (e.g., Bilanzbuchhalter, Tax Clerk).
• Audit or Tax Firm Experience: You’ve gained foundational experience in an audit or accounting firm.
