Join n8n as the dedicated data partner to a product team that's already hands-on with data. Our PMs are technical and data-literate. They write SQL, run their own analyses, and know their corner of the product deeply. What they're missing is a dedicated analyst counterpart - someone who takes the data work further than they have time for, brings the outside perspective they can't get from inside their squad, and pairs with them on designing and improving the product.
Your mission is to be the dedicated data partner that helps a hands‑on product team go deeper, see further, and design better products.
Be the PMs' data partnerOur PMs already do their own analyses. You're the counterpart who takes the work deeper and broader than they can in a sprint. Take on the analyses they don't have time for, accelerate the ones they're running, and pair on the questions that matter most. Free PMs to focus on building product by being the dedicated owner of the data work that supports it.
Bring perspective they can't get themselvesCross-product cuts, segment views, comparative analyses across the user base – the outside lens that's hard to see from inside a single squad. Challenge assumptions, including the ones PMs are most attached to. Surface the analyses nobody asked for but everyone needed.
Help design and improve the productCo-create hypotheses with PMs and pair on how to test them properly. Activation and adoption are the headline: how users get to value, what drives lasting use, where we’re losing them, and what to build to fix it. Go deep on retention drivers, cohort dynamics, and the leading indicators of expansion. Connect feature-level analyses back to the bigger picture.
Influence the roadmap with a real POVSit in product planning as a peer. Bring strong, data-backed opinions about what we should build next — and what we shouldn't. Push back constructively. Translate complex analysis into crisp recommendations that move decisions.
Raise the bar on rigorBring statistical depth where it matters and keep it out of the way when it doesn't. Make experiments and analyses trustworthy — well-designed, properly powered, honestly read. Partner with PMs and Engineering on event instrumentation so the data the team relies on is solid.
RequirementsMust-haves- Senior product analytics chops: 5+ years analyzing product usage in B2B SaaS, ideally in a PLG environment.
- Partner mindset: You thrive working alongside technical, hands‑on PMs as a counterpart — making them better and being made better by them.
- Activation & adoption expertise: You've owned the analysis behind onboarding funnels, time-to-value, feature adoption, and the behavioral signals that separate stuck users from successful ones.
- Depth, not just breadth: You're known for going deeper than the obvious — behavioral segmentation, retention drivers, feature impact done properly.
- Real applied statistics: Not 'I took a stats class' — you can spot a biased metric, an underpowered test, or a confounder, and explain it clearly to a non-technical stakeholder.
- Opinionated and high-agency: You don't wait for tickets. You see what's worth analyzing, you do it, and you bring a clear recommendation — even when the team didn't ask.
- Solid experimentation skills: You can design and read A/B tests properly. It's one tool in your kit, not the only one.
- Instrumentation fluency: You've defined event taxonomies and partnered with engineering on tracking specs.
- Technical toolkit: Expert SQL; comfort with modern stack (BigQuery, dbt, Metabase or equivalent).
- Communication that lands: You write memos PMs read end‑to‑end and present findings that change decisions.
- Devtool / OSS / technical product experience: You get how technical audiences adopt and use products.
- Python for analysis: pandas, statsmodels, scipy when SQL isn't enough.
- Causal inference: For the questions A/B testing can't answer.
- Experimentation platforms: GrowthBook, Statsig, Eppo, or similar.
At n8n, your work won't disappear into a slide deck. You'll pair with a technical, data-literate product team that already does its own analysis and genuinely values having a real analyst counterpart. You'll be embedded, trusted, and in the room where decisions get made — owning the questions that matter most for a fast-growing PLG product: how users activate, what drives adoption, and what keeps them coming back. You'll join a small, sharp data team with strong foundations already in place, inside one of Europe's fastest-growing open‑source companies, at a moment where what we ship matters a lot.
