YOUR MISSION
Your main goal will be to support community-driven development by triaging GitHub issues, fixing bugs, and reviewing community pull requests and nodes.
You’ll work closely with our Nodes team to reduce the time they spend on support and maintenance, so they can focus on building new features. You’ll also help improve the developer experience for contributors and ensure submissions meet our quality standards.
Triage GitHub Issues
- Triage new GitHub issues, investigate, and label them appropriately
- Fix small and medium bugs, especially in community-reported nodes
- Write clear comments and close the loop with contributors
Maintain Node Quality
- Reproduce and fix bugs in nodes with external dependencies (e.g. APIs, SDKs)
- Help reduce our backlog of unresolved issues
- Prevent regressions by improving test coverage and flagging edge cases
Review and Support Community Contributions
- Review community PRs and node submissions for quality and consistency
- Suggest changes, request fixes, or merge when ready
- Help with basic documentation updates or tests as needed
Improve Contribution Workflows
- Identify ways to automate or streamline common community tasks
- Ensure community contributors get timely feedback
- Flag recurring issues and share feedback with the product and engineering teams
Requirements
JavaScript/TypeScript experience: You can debug, fix, and review modern JS/TS code.
GitHub fluency: You’re comfortable with issues, pull requests, forks, and basic Git workflows.
Debugging ability: You can troubleshoot bugs across different APIs and node types.
️ Clear written communication: You write concise, helpful comments and follow up on threads.
Team mindset: You’re collaborative, responsive, and open to feedback.
Bonus if you have some of these…
OSS contributor: You\’ve submitted PRs to open-source projects or maintained a small repo.
Community-facing experience: You’ve worked in DevRel, support engineering, or helped dev communities.
️ Familiar with n8n: You’ve built or tested workflows and understand how our nodes work.
Startup experience: You’ve worked in a fast-paced SaaS or dev tools environment.
CLI and package manager comfort: You use terminal tools like npm, pnpm, or yarn regularly.
