Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to play a key role in supporting our company\’s objectives by delivering high-quality HR services across the business. This is a fixed term position covering maternity leave. The expected duration will be mid October 2025 through to November / December 2026.
You will be the first point of contact, assisting employees and managers with a range of HR activities throughout the employee lifecycle. This includes recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, policy development, performance management, and strategic HR initiatives. You will have the opportunity to lead individual projects based on your interests, experience, and skillset.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Relations
- Provide advice on common HR issues including absence management, performance, disciplinaries, and grievances,
- Maintain and review the ER log, identifying training needs to support managers effectively.
Learning & Development
- Support the evaluation, development, and delivery of training programs.
- Communicate learning opportunities via email and the Company intranet.
- Manage training records and generate reports.
Policy Development & Advice
- Research, update, and develop HR policies.
- Advise employees and managers on HR policies and procedures.
Performance Management
- Support managers and employees through the performance review process (PDP).
- Provide guidance on performance issues and maintain HR database records.
Onboarding
- Support with recruitment as needed from job posting to onboarding.
- Prepare offer packs, administer background checks, and monitor probation periods.
- Conduct HR inductions, health & safety briefings, and building tours for new starters.
HR Administration & Data Management
- Manage administration around employee lifecycle events including starters/ leavers/ changes/ parental leave
- Maintain accurate employee records both manually and in the HR system.
- Act as a \’super user\’ of the HR database, generating reports and recruitment metrics.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years\’ experience in a HR Advisor or similar role
- Ideally a graduate and / or studying towards a professional HR qualification
- Good understanding of key areas of UK employment law
- Experience advising on a range of employee relations issues independently and dealing with more complex issues with guidance from senior colleagues
- Excellent communication (listening, written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- The ability to maintain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders in the business
- Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills, in order to manage spreadsheets and update electronic files.
- Comfortable in delivering inductions and training workshops
- UK Driving License and happy to drive to our other sites
- Able to work from Maidenhead Head Office 3 days per week.
- Salary £30-35k gross per annum depending on experience
- Hybrid working opportunities – 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
