We are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative on a fixed term period to join our growing team in Hook. The focus of the role is to assist the Warehouse Manager and Team Leaders with the day to day running of the warehouse's electrical division, to ensure the safe storage, inventory, pick & packing and delivery deadlines are met, and the warehouse is a safe environment to work in. This is a fixed term position until end of September 2026 with potential to be extended. Working hours are Monday - Friday 40 hours per week.

Key accountabilities

  • Assist in planning, coordinating and monitoring the receipt, order assembly and dispatch of goods.
  • Sign for goods received into the warehouse, update stock system, advise Campaign Managers of the delivery.
  • Check and inspect goods received and ensuring they are of accurate quantity, type, and acceptable quality.
  • Produce a work plan each day and prioritise tasks.
  • Liaise with Campaign Managers, Field Support Managers, Suppliers and Transport Companies.
  • Contact courier companies to coordinate the dispatch and delivery of goods.
  • Load and unload goods from company and third-party vehicles.
  • Organise elements to pick & pack, accurately update stock system.
  • Operate company vehicles when necessary.
  • Produce delivery notes / consignment labels using third party portals.
  • Support a clean, safe warehouse working environment for all staff to work in, remove hazardous products from site in line with safety regulations.
  • Support the Field Support team, this may involve working off site.

Qualifications

  • Some previous experience of working in a warehouse environment.
  • Understand material / stock management techniques and inventory control methods and procedures.
  • Able to lift and move boxes, heavy packages and elements without difficulty and carry out tasks as directed.
  • Ability to work alone or co-operatively within a team.
  • Experience following standard operating procedures and working in a methodical and tidy manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Good understanding of both the spoken and written English Language.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, and other specialist stock tracking software - training will be provided).
  • Understand Health & Safety Regulations.
  • Honesty, reliability and an organised, methodical 'can do' approach.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends as business requires.
  • Forklift Licence – Counterbalance / Reach Truck.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK.

  • NVQ in Warehousing and Storage.
  • Full Driving Licence.
