Join Our Dynamic Team at N-Sea! Are you an experienced offshore professional ready to take the next step into a leadership role? Do you have a strong background in cable installation and subsea construction? N-Sea is looking for a Deputy Offshore Construction Manager (DOCM) to support and assist in leading offshore construction campaigns.
As the Deputy OCM, you will act as the second-in-command offshore, supporting the Offshore Construction Manager in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality cable installation operations. You’ll play a key role in coordinating offshore teams, ensuring operational continuity, and maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.

Your Responsibilities
- Support the OCM in managing offshore cable installation activities, including cable lay, burial, pull-ins, jointing, and testing
- Supervise deck operations, cable handling, and installation spread setup
- Monitor execution against procedures, method statements, and engineering specifications
- Act as deputy to the OCM, taking command in their absence
- Coordinate between vessel crew, engineers, subcontractors, and survey/ROV teams
- Promote and enforce a strong QHSE culture, including toolbox talks and permit-to-work systems
- Ensure compliance with IMCA guidelines, LOLER, and project HSE requirements
- Support offshore client communication, reporting progress, variations, and issues
- Contribute to daily reporting, installation logs, and as-built documentation
- Provide technical support on cable handling, burial tools, and pull-in systems
- Participate in emergency drills and ensure operational readiness
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Offshore Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Technology, or equivalent
- Or HND / vocational qualification with relevant offshore experience
- 3–6+ years of experience in offshore cable installation or subsea construction
- Experience in roles such as Cable Installation Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, Deck Foreman, or Senior Project Technician
- Strong knowledge of subsea power cable handling and burial techniques
- Familiar with IMCA guidelines (e.g., M 252, SEL 019)
- Experience with renewables and knowledge of GWO and G+ standards is a plus
- Strong leadership and coordination skills
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Able to work under pressure in a dynamic offshore environment
