This role involves working closely with the Commercial Director to manage the regional commercial team, overseeing the Financial and Commercial performance of a business region or strategic project. The successful candidate will provide commercial advice and expertise to other regional functions and support the Commercial Director in preparing regional management accounts and contributing to contract reviews.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with customers, key suppliers, and vendors.
- Promoting the business and seeking new opportunities.
- Negotiating to improve the company's Commercial and Financial position.
- Attending and chairing contract reviews, ensuring the accuracy of cost and value forecasts, and assisting in the preparation of business plans and management accounts.
- Managing the commercial aspects of business development and focus win activities, evaluating risks and opportunities, and ensuring the company's position is protected in tenders.
- Maintaining project-level Risk and Opportunity Schedules, implementing mitigation strategies, and reporting commercial risks accurately.
- Generating and maintaining records to maximize contractual entitlements, avoid disputes, and manage disputes when necessary.
- Overseeing the commercial performance of projects and managing project commercial staff to meet objectives.
- Providing advice on dispute resolution within the business area.
