What you’ll be doing…
- Advising & Empowerment
- Trusted ER Partner: Act as the first point of contact for employee relations (ER), building strong relationships with Regional Directors and Nursery Managers.
- Manager Coaching: Upskill and coach managers to confidently handle absence, performance, probations, and grievances.
- Capability Building: Create practical toolkits, templates, and training to enable manager self-service and address knowledge gaps.
- Team Support: Guide new managers through onboarding and support People Assistants with administrative process delivery.
- Experience & Engagement
- Training & Engagement: Deliver engaging training sessions and attend regional meetings to reinforce policy consistency.
- Wellbeing Champion: Advise on Occupational Health and mental health support, helping managers spot and act on wellbeing concerns early.
- Culture & Inclusion: Drive initiatives that boost retention, promote inclusive practices, and evolve the overall employee experience.
- Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Pragmatic Compliance: Provide timely, up-to-date legal advice (including upcoming Employment Rights Act updates) to minimize risk.
- Policy & Change Management: Maintain compliant people policies and support organizational change like restructures or redundancies.
- HRIS Superuser: Act as the platform expert for HiBob, driving data integrity, regular audits, and system process improvements.
- Safeguarding: Ensure all people operations are executed fairly and strictly align with safeguarding and H&S regulations.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with the wider People team to simplify processes, enhance automation, and future-proof HR services.
- Data-Driven Insights: Use data and feedback to spot trends, recommend policy updates, and constructively challenge decisions.
- Value Ambassador: Role model company values and champion a "hassle-free" employee experience.
You should have…
- Proven experience as an HR generalist or People Advisor, with a strong and demonstrable focus on employment relations - ideally in a multi-site organisation.
- Experience advising on the full range of ER cases including disciplinaries, grievances, performance, absence, flexible working, and probation.
- Experience implementing, configuring, or acting as a superuser on HRIS or case management systems. HiBob experience is a bonus but not essential.
- Experience delivering training or coaching to managers on people processes and ER matters.
- Experience working within, or passion for, the early years, education, or care sector.
Please note, this is a hybrid role working 2 days per week at our Support Office in Shoreditch, London.
