Your role
As a Room Manager at N Family, you’ll lead an incredible team of expert Educators in one of our nursery family rooms. As a specialist in early years education, you’ll be the driving force behind passionate, innovative teaching. You’ll be an inspirational leader, supporting every colleague to reach their goals and giving every child the best of care. In a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, you\’ll drive our Wildly Important Goals (WIG) forward, keep us improving, and help us achieve our vision of becoming the most loved early years education group in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive as a team.
- Lead our ‘learning through play’ ethos and our N Curriculum with care and flair.
- Be a role model for outstanding care and education, inspiring your team to bring their best every day.
- Champion continuous improvement, keeping practice fresh, creative, and Outstandingly Outstanding.
- Shape the daily routine of your room, ensuring smooth transitions from mealtimes to naptimes to playtimes.
- Support your team to plan, observe, and deliver high-quality learning experiences tailored to every child.
- Coach, guide, and motivate your team through regular feedback and professional development.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and keep them involved in their children’s learning.
- Embed and role-model safeguarding, health and safety, and wellbeing standards across your room.
Qualifications and experience
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting (ideally as a Room Leader, Third in Charge, or nursery practitioner, nursery nurse, or early years educator).
- For Baby Room Managers, previous experience working with children under 2.
- Experience in leading and coaching a team.
- A background in leading consistent and exceptional customer service.
- Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
- Paediatric First Aid (12 hours) and a commitment to remain compliant.
- Relevant safeguarding/child protection training and willingness to update that training regularly.
- A genuine passion for education and changing the lives of children.
- A positive, glass-half-full outlook.
- Bags of drive and motivation with a ‘make it happen’ attitude!
- A solid decision-maker with the ability to support and achieve our WIGs (Wildly Important Goals).
