As a Deputy Room Manager at N Family, you’ll help the Room Manager to lead an incredible team of expert Educators in one of our nursery family rooms. As a specialist in early years education, you’ll be the driving force behind passionate, innovative teaching. You’ll be an inspirational leader, supporting every colleague to reach their goals and giving every child the best of care. In our fast-paced, ever-evolving environment, you’ll drive our Wildly Important Goals (WIG) forward, keep us improving, and help us become the most loved early years education group in the UK.
Your key responsibilities:
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive as a team.
- Lead our ‘learning through play’ ethos and our N Curriculum with care and flair.
- Be a role model for outstanding care and education, inspiring your team to bring their best every day.
- Champion continuous improvement, keeping practice fresh, creative, and Outstandingly Outstanding.
- Shape the daily routine of your room, ensuring smooth transitions from mealtimes to naptimes to playtimes.
- Support your team to plan, observe, and deliver high-quality learning experiences tailored to every child.
- Coach, guide, and motivate your team through regular feedback and professional development.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and keep them involved in their children’s learning.
- Embed and role-model our safeguarding, health and safety, and wellbeing standards across your room.
Qualifications and experience:
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting (ideally as a Room Leader, Second in Charge, or nursery practitioner).
- Experience in leading and coaching a team.
- A background in leading consistent and exceptional customer service.
- Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
- Paediatric First Aid (12 hours) and a commitment to remain compliant.
- Relevant safeguarding/child protection training and willingness to update that training regularly.
- A genuine passion for education and changing the lives of children.
- A positive, glass-half-full outlook.

- A solid decision-maker, with the ability to support and achieve our WIGs (Wildly Important Goals).
