As an Assistant Deputy Manager, you’ll be a vital part of the leadership team – supporting the Deputy Manager and Room Managers to ensure excellence across the nursery. You’ll help oversee daily operations, support team development, and ensure every child experiences outstanding early years education. This is a perfect role for a strong educator or room leader ready to take the next step into leadership.

What you’ll be doing…

  • Support the Deputy Manager in leading and inspiring a team across the nursery
  • Support daily operations and ratios across rooms
  • Champion the N Curriculum and model outstanding practice in learning and care
  • Coach and mentor team members to grow their skills and confidence
  • Build trusted relationships with families, children, and colleagues
  • Step into the Deputy’s role in their absence and work closely with the Nursery Manager
  • Ensure policies, safeguarding, and health & safety procedures are upheld at all times
  • Help maintain an engaging, inclusive, and safe learning environment across the nursery

Our Assistant Deputy Managers should have…

  • A Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (full & relevant)
  • Previous experience as a Room Leader, Deputy, or in a senior educator role
  • Sound understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding, and nursery operations
  • Paediatric First Aid (12 hours) and willingness to train further
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A calm, confident, and approachable leadership style
  • Passion for supporting children’s development and championing team growth
  • A positive team player attitude and a love for delivering high-quality early education
