Head Chef required for a hotel in the Redhill area. As Head Chef, candidates require a good all round background to include restaurant service, and experience of catering for up to 200+ within conference, wedding and banqueting operations. You will ideally have 5 years experience at this level, and you will be responsible for a team of 4 within the kitchen brigade, plus a Kitchen Porter.

  • You’ll be a confident leader with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • You will be responsible for the food culture within the hotel, working closely with management to develop menus, maintain standards and drive the kitchen forward.
  • You will lead by example and support your team, taking pride in delivering exceptional food and service.

Key Responsibilities of the role as Head Chef:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day kitchen operation
  • Oversee restaurant, weddings, conferences and event catering
  • Develop seasonal menus and specials alongside management
  • Manage stock control, ordering, GP margins and labour costs
  • Lead, train and develop the kitchen team
  • Ensure consistently high food quality and presentation standards
  • Take responsibility for the food safety and hygiene management system to maintain a 5-star food hygiene rating
  • Ensure compliance with food hygiene, HACCP, health & safety and fire regulations
  • Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment
  • Work closely with front-of-house and management teams to deliver excellent guest experiences

Shifts: 5 days out of 7 per week, mostly straights. 40 hours a week.

The salary for Head Chef is given as £45 - £50K / per annum / 40 hour week / performance incentives / other company benefits. Live in may be a possibility. Sponsorship may also be possible.

Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
