Sous Chef required for our client, a Village Inn, located on the coast in the Kingsbridge area of Devon. This location is a beautiful place to live and work. In your spare time you could be paddle boarding, swimming, kayaking or just enjoying this coastal area. Shared live in is available for this role.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, Pay: £30,000.00-£33,000.00 per year.
As the Sous Chef you will be assisting in managing the kitchen and assume responsibility in the absence of the Head Chef. You will need to be able to demonstrate previous experience working in a similar role and be looking for somewhere to develop and take the next step in your career.
Key Responsibilities:
- To lead by example and implement all procedures (HACCP, Health and Safety, COSHH and Food Safety Management) to the required standards to which training has been received.
- To help manage all team members to ensure productivity and complete organisation within the kitchen.
- To motivate and promote positive behaviour within the team.
- To communicate effectively within the kitchen and other departments.
- To assist in creating new dishes and evolving the menu development.
- To help control kitchen costs and achieve the set budgets, including staff costs and food costs.
- To work calm under pressure showing alertness, vigilance whilst taking the initiative.
- To encourage and develop individual skills whilst contributing to any training needs in the kitchen.
- To create and implement new systems within the kitchen to increase efficiency and productivity.
The salary for this opportunity of Sous Chef is given as £30,000 - £33,000 per annum. Shared Live in is available if you are looking to relocate.
