N.E.J. Stevenson Limited is recruiting a Sprayer to join our growing team based in Church Lawford, near Rugby. As an experienced sprayer you will need to be both practical and hands-on in your approach to the role. The role involves working on a variety of projects, from small individual pieces to large architectural installations in many styles from contemporary to historic. As Head Sprayer you will be responsible for leading and managing the finishing shop and its staff, currently this would include two skilled finishers and an apprentice. The successful sprayer must be passionate about their work, show excellent attention to detail, be highly organisational and methodical and demonstrate the ability to work to tight deadlines while maintaining a top-quality finish.
Role Requirements:
- Operation of spraying equipment including pump systems, gravity guns, gun wash and sanders.
- Preparation of substrate, application of high-quality top-coat paint finish using spray gun, spot priming and fading in, small remedial works using brush work.
- High quality top-coat paint finishing using a spray gun from 3% to 90% sheens and in a full range of clears and colours.
- Experience and knowledge of spraying a variety of lacquers, Polyester, PU, AC, Pre-cat and Water-base.
- Technical and practical knowledge of mixing, matching and applying stains and tints.
- High gloss polished finishing including preparation using a full range of abrasive papers, buffing and polishing with cutting pastes and mops.
- Hand finishing using wax and oils, traditional polishing and restoration.
- Perform on-site finishing (snagging and remedial work) at project completion.
- Consistent levels of housekeeping in the paint shop including stock control and production control information.
- Maintenance of a safe, clean and organised work environment.
- Quality control and high personal standards of work and presentation.
- Attend meetings and training programmes as required.
- Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills.
- Good communication skills.
- Compliance with all Health and Safety requirements of products, applications and environment.
- Perform additional duties within the business as required and as assigned.
Ideally you will have:
- 5+ years paint and lacquer spraying experience.
- A full UK driving licence.
