Job Description:
Undertake a global engineering training needs analysis and build a robust people programme to uplift capability of our engineer colleagues, retain top talent and strengthen the talent pipeline:
- Work with senior Principal Engineers to create and embed an engineering centre of excellence
- Create an Emerging Talent pipeline for junior engineers by implementing the following:
- Capability Uplift programmes
- Coding bootcamps and similar learning initiatives
- Engineering hackathons
- Partnering with 3rd parties / universities to strengthen recruitment pipeline
Coding Assessment rollout:
- Support the rollout of the coding assessments to engineering colleagues, both perm and non-perm (including periodic re-assessments)
- Work with Group Technology to launch and embed the new onboarding process & platform
- Project manage coding assessment cohorts end-to-end, including supporting progress updates to senior leaders and working with business managers to drive completion
- Analyse assessment results and provide concise and impactful summaries and action plans for senior leadership
Design and implement an Onboarding Orientation toolkit to welcome new employees and help transition them into their roles smoothly, including but not limited to:
- Review existing information and create a standard toolkit
- System access bundling
- Establish a buddy / mentoring system
- Working with “Emerging Talent” team to onboard and provide ongoing pastoral care for Graduates and Interns (including maintaining graduate and intern communities of practice to ensure a network is established and maintained throughout the programme)
Work with HR and the People & Culture Manager to develop and rollout a People Leader Capability Uplift programme that includes:
- Enhancements to the performance management lifecycle (including better use of data in performance reviews)
- Strengthening softer skills capabilities (i.e. running effective exchanges, succession planning, how to have difficult conversations)
- Build People Leader toolkit
Design and implement further ad hoc Talent initiatives based on emerging needs / requirements (e.g. through identification of the annual people engagement survey “snapshot”). Initiatives may include but are not limited to:
- Coaching and mentoring schemes
- Promotion of Global Mobility and access to opportunities
- Partnership schemes
Key Competencies:
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills: the successful candidate should have experience in managing a broad and senior group of stakeholders
- Experience in designing, initiating and executing projects, including relevant project management and transformation qualifications, e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, Change Adoption, MSP, Agile
- Strong Project Management Office (PMO) skills, including planning, reporting, risk and financial management
- Demonstrable experience and passion in working on people and culture initiatives such as inclusion, talent management, learning and development
- Exceptional written communications skills and experience in delivering presentations to large and diverse groups of people
- Proven experience in creating visual and compelling presentations and business cases
- Proven ability in working across complex, multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural work environments
- Strong analytical background and proven ability in analytical rigour, including being able to contextualise data and distil into business insight and form relevant recommendations
