Duration: 3 months contract with possible extension

Location: London, UK (Hybrid)

Strong experience administering and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server in production (versions relevant to your environment).

Deep T-SQL expertise, stored procedure and function development, and experience building transformation logic at scale.

Practical experience with ETL/ELT tools and processes (SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent).

Solid understanding of data modeling (normalized and dimensional models), schema design, and data warehousing concepts.

Experience with query tuning, indexing strategies, partitioning, and columnstore/index types.

Familiarity with high-availability, disaster recovery, and security features of SQL Server.

Experience creating and maintaining metadata, data dictionaries, and schema governance.

Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-based SQL Server solutions (Azure SQL Database, Managed Instance) and hybrid architectures.
  • Familiarity with BI stacks (SSRS, SSAS, Power BI) and how unified structures support reporting/analytics.
  • Experience with automation and DevOps for databases (Redgate, Flyway, Liquibase, Azure DevOps pipelines).
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or equivalent.

Role focused on transforming and harmonizing disparate SQL Server output structures into a single, maintainable, and high-performance data structure strategy that supports analytics, reporting, and downstream systems.

Work closely with data architects, ETL/BI engineers, application teams, and stakeholders to define standards, implement transformations, and enforce governance.
