A Data Migration Specialist is responsible for planning, executing, and ensuring the accurate transfer of data between systems while maintaining data integrity, security, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Analysis and Planning: Identify data to be migrated, assess data quality, and determine the most suitable migration methods and strategies.
- Data Mapping and Transformation: Develop and maintain mappings from source to target systems, perform data cleansing, transformation, and conversion.
- Execution and Monitoring: Perform migration activities, monitor progress, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including IT, business analysts, and data stewards, to resolve issues and ensure smooth migration.
- Documentation and Reporting: Document procedures, modifications, and create status reports for stakeholders.
