We are looking for a Dynatrace Expert who will act as both a hands-on Observability Engineer and a Lead member of the Observability Centre of Excellence (CoE). The role requires strong technical expertise in Dynatrace along with the ability to guide and support application teams that are new to observability practices. The candidate will be responsible for driving enterprise-wide observability adoption across critical business applications, particularly in payment and banking environments.
Key Skills & Experience
- 6+ years of relevant experience in observability / monitoring / APM tools
- Strong expertise in Dynatrace (preferred Dynatrace Certified Associate)
- Exposure to AppDynamics (good to have)
- Experience with distributed systems (microservices, APIs, MQ, mainframes)
- Knowledge of DQL (Dynatrace Query Language) for dashboards and reporting
- Integration experience with tools like Moogsoft
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement end-to-end observability for critical business services
- Configure request attributes to enrich traces with business context (e.g., transaction IDs, payment types)
- Perform distributed transaction tracing using PurePath across complex architectures
- Build dashboards for executives, operations, and engineering teams
- Define and manage Management Zones for environment and team segmentation
- Design alerting strategies using baselines, anomaly detection, and SLO-based thresholds
- Leverage Smartscape and Davis AI for root cause analysis
- Define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets aligned to business services
- Establish observability standards across:
- Naming conventions
- Tagging and metadata standards
- Dashboard and alert design principles
- Identify observability gaps and create improvement roadmaps
- Drive governance and standardization across multi-team environments
- Provide hands-on support to application teams for onboarding and implementation
