We're looking for a Carers Information & Support Officer to join our dedicated team and help unpaid carers access the information, services and support they need to look after their well-being while caring for others.

About the Role

As a Carers Information & Support Officer, you'll work directly with unpaid carers, helping them to understand their rights, navigate services, access support, and build confidence in their caring role.

You'll provide information, advice and guidance through a variety of channels, helping carers feel heard, valued and connected.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing information, guidance and practical support to unpaid carers.
  • Carrying out carer conversations and assessments of need.
  • Signposting and referring carers to appropriate services and resources.
  • Developing positive relationships with carers, partners and community organisations.
  • Promoting carer services through community outreach and engagement.
  • Maintaining accurate records and monitoring outcomes.
  • Supporting carers to improve their health, wellbeing and resilience.

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about supporting people and making a positive difference.Has excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Can build trust and rapport with a wide range of individuals.
  • Is organised and able to manage a varied workload.
  • Has good IT and record-keeping skills.
  • Works well independently and as part of a team.
  • Understands the challenges faced by unpaid carers (through work, volunteering or personal experience).

Experience in health, social care, community services, advice, support work or customer-facing roles would be beneficial, but equally important are your values, empathy and commitment to helping others.
