Transform Lives Through One-to-One Support
Help vulnerable adults regain control of their lives whilst building valuable skills and experience.
As a Community Support Volunteer, you'll provide direct, meaningful support that creates lasting change for people in your local area.
About n-compass n-compass operates across the North of England to help people regain control of their lives, providing hope and a sense of purpose through the provision of Carers, Advocacy, Wellbeing, Counselling, and Volunteering Services.
We are currently looking for compassionate and motivated volunteers to support adults in the Knowsley / Merseyside area.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll provide one-to-one low-level support to adults in the community. Your role focuses on helping them develop confidence, improve wellbeing, and access relevant services.
- Provide short-term, one-to-one support around health and wellbeing
- Signpost clients to appropriate external services and resources
- Support clients in person, via telephone, or video call
- Maintain accurate and confidential records using our case management system
- Make calls, write letters, and send emails on behalf of or with clients
- Engage in regular supervision and support with the Volunteer Hub team
Skills & Experience (Desirable, but not essential)
- A passion for supporting vulnerable adults
- Friendly, empathetic, and approachable nature
- Ability to maintain clear and appropriate boundaries
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Training & Support Provided
- Full induction training
- Safeguarding training
- Lone Working training and access to the Orbis lone working system
- Regular 1:1 mentoring and welfare check-ins
- Opportunity to progress to Level 2 Advocacy Training after 6 months of volunteering
