Advocacy - Giving People a Voice & Making a Real Difference. Do you believe everyone deserves to be heard, respected and empowered, especially at the moments that matter most? Are you looking for a flexible role with an organisation who will value and respect you? At N-Compass, we support some of the most vulnerable people in our communities to understand their rights, express their views and have real choice and control over decisions affecting their lives. We are now looking for a Multi-Specialist Advocate to join our passionate, values-driven team.
About the role: As a Multi-Specialist Advocate, you’ll provide independent, person-centred advocacy across a range of statutory and non-statutory services, including Mental Capacity, Mental Health and Care Act advocacy. Knowledge of these services is an advantage, but not essential, as we have a fabulous learning and development offer and will upskill you and support you through an external qualification. You’ll work directly with individuals, often in complex or emotionally challenging situations, ensuring their voice is central and their wishes are respected. This is a varied and rewarding role, delivered across different settings, from community locations to inpatient mental health wards, where no two days are the same and your impact is tangible. You can expect regular team working, alongside community work with the people we support and the flexibility to work from home.
About you: We’re looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient and committed to upholding people’s rights. You don’t need to know everything on day one, we’ll support your development, but you will bring:
- A strong commitment to values-based, person-centred practice
- Excellent listening and communication skills, with the ability to build trust quickly
- The confidence to work independently while knowing when to seek support
- The ability to manage emotionally complex situations with professionalism and empathy
- Clear and accurate record-keeping skills, with confidence using case management systems
- A commitment to equality, dignity and empowering others
- Experience of advocacy, health, social care or voluntary sector work is helpful, but what matters most is your mindset, values and motivation.
Why work for N-Compass? We’re proud to be recognised as a great place to work, with our people consistently describing N-Compass as kind, inclusive and non-judgemental. Colleagues talk about a strong sense of belonging, a genuine no-blame culture and leaders who are approachable, visible and human. We know our people do their best work when they feel supported, trusted and able to be themselves. That’s why we offer:
- A warm, compassionate and people-first culture
- Flexible and hybrid working opportunities where possible
- A strong focus on employee wellbeing and work-life balance
- High-quality training, development and opportunities to grow
- Supportive teams who look out for one another and share a strong sense of purpose
Above all, you’ll be joining an organisation where the work really matters and where your contribution is recognised and valued.
Our purpose: At N-Compass, our vision is simple but powerful: communities where everyone has a voice, feels valued and can look forward to a brighter future. If that resonates with you, we’d love to hear from you.
