The Board of Trustees have overall responsibility for the strategic direction, governance and financial health of the charity!
As a Trustee, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide strategic support to ensure objectives are delivered in line with the vision
- Ensure operational plans, budgets and resources support organisational goals & public benefit
- Maintain compliance with charity law, company law, governance requirements and organisational policies
- Oversee organisational performance, financial stability, risk management and safeguarding arrangements
- Represent and promote the reputation, values and stakeholder interests
- Ensure management of conflicts of interest and employment responsibilities
We’re looking for a Trustee with the following:
- Strong commitment to the charities mission, values and objectives
- Understand the trustee responsibilities, governance and decision making
- Strategic thinker with sound judgement, integrity & can challenge constructively
- Can work collaboratively, interpret performance info & contribute at board level
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, with time and dedication
- Experience in Digital & AI, HR & People Governance or Marketing & Communications is desirable
The Trustee schedule will look like:
- Attendance at a one-day induction programme and willingness to undertake further training if required
- Attendance at quarterly board meetings (currently Wednesdays, 5.30pm to 7.30pm)
- Preparation for meetings, including reading papers in advance
- Possible attendance at Audit Committee
- Attendance at one staff briefing per year
