We are looking for a highly organised, creative and detail-oriented Fashion Design Assistant to support the day-to-day operation of the design department on a project-based fixed-term contract.
Working closely with the Head of Design, Designers, Print Team and Buying Team, you will provide essential creative and administrative support across the design process, from trend research and colour development through to sample management.
- A day in the life of a project based Design Assistant
- Provide general administrative, organisational and creative support to the design department.
- Assist designers with day-to-day tasks and project requirements.
- Organise and maintain the Pantone library and colour palettes, ensuring resources are clearly labelled, up to date and easily accessible.
• Support trend research, including
- Catwalk research and image/reference collation.
- Market and trend research.
- Supporting the development of trend reports and presentations.
- Gathering relevant visual and commercial references for the design team.
• Manage and maintain bought samples, including
- Photographing and cataloguing samples.
- Logging sample details accurately.
- Organising samples for easy access and reference.
- Coordinating parcel returns and ensuring samples are returned appropriately.
- Assist with general design administration, filing and organisation of creative resources.
- Work collaboratively with the Print Team and Buying Team to support the smooth progression of design projects.
- Reporting To Head of Design
- Passionate about fashion, style, design and current trends.
- Have a qualification in fashion.
- Confident in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft office
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Proactive, reliable and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Confident conducting visual and trend research.
- Creative, with a strong eye for colour, imagery and fashion direction.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced design environment.
- A clear and collaborative communicator.
- Previous experience within a fashion design environment, internship or design assistant role would be advantageous.
