We’re looking for a Senior Product Design Engineer for our New Product Development team in London. In this role, you’ll be pivotal in bringing technical substance and inspiration to our creative efforts to deliver credible solutions to populate our product roadmap, and ultimately to the market, specifically by:
- Takes a senior role in the origination of novel concepts and technologies for our next generation of products.
- Defines elegant but robust solutions to satisfy the products’ functional requirements.
- Mentors more junior team members, with potential for line management if desired. Supports all team members and encourages their efforts.
- Lead design studies (independently and in teams) to solve technical or consumer issues found in the development of a product.
- Takes ownership of designs and is able to drive these through conception, CAD and visualisation, prototyping and verification, whilst consistently working at pace.
- Is able to work both autonomously and collaboratively as required and able to switch approach quickly as technical solutions gain traction through the wider global engineering team.
- Continuously evaluates and improves designs for cost-effectiveness, manufacturing improvements, increased quality and value to consumers.
- Applies sound engineering standards to deliver real solutions.
- Applies understanding & experience of high-volume manufacturing processes and materials to optimise designs.
- Communicates effectively and professionally with colleagues.
- Collaborates seamlessly with our U.S. and China based Product Development teams to ensure that great ideas make it through to production.
What You’ll Bring:
- Degree level technical qualification, ideally Product Design Engineering, Mechanical or Industrial Design Engineering.
- Typically 4-6 years proven experience in Mechanical/ Product Design environment.
- Experience in the consumer goods household appliance space desirable.
- Experience in plastic manufacturing processes desirable.
- Experience in delivering real-world products to market.
- Ability to use SolidWorks and/or Creo CAD package(s) to a very high level.
- Ability and drive to identify, solve, implement, and verify user and technical solutions autonomously.
- “Hands-on” experience. Ability to independently build prototypes, develop test plans and execute against those plans in a lab environment, action and report the resulting data.
- Flexible and collaborative - these are key to success at SharkNinja.
- Positive attitude with an inquisitive nature.
- Appreciation for electrical engineering, software and UX design helpful but not essential.
