About the Role:
MZ Talent Group is recruiting for an experienced Mathematics Teacher to join a reputable British School in Baghdad, Iraq. This is a strong opportunity for a committed teacher with British curriculum experience who is confident delivering engaging Mathematics lessons and supporting students in a developing international school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons in line with the British curriculum.
- Teach Mathematics across the assigned year groups, including KS3, KS4 and/or KS5 where required.
- Create a positive, structured and engaging classroom environment.
- Assess, monitor and report on student progress.
- Differentiating lessons to support students of varying abilities.
- Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations where applicable.
- Maintain high expectations for student behaviour, progress and achievement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, department leaders and senior leadership.
- Communicate professionally with students, parents and staff.
- Contribute to wider school life, including meetings, events and school initiatives.
- Follow the school’s safeguarding, behaviour and academic policies.
Candidate Requirements:
- Degree in Mathematics, Education, or a closely related subject.
- Recognised teaching qualification, such as PGCE with QTS, B.Ed., or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Mathematics within a British curriculum school.
- Strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
- Ability to deliver engaging, differentiated and well-structured lessons.
- Professional, flexible and positive approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Previous international school experience would be an advantage.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of Mathematics teaching experience.
- Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 Mathematics.
- KS5 experience would be advantageous.
- Experience preparing students for British curriculum assessments.
- Previous experience in the Middle East or an international school setting would be beneficial.
