Salaried GP in Shrewsbury

6 SESSIONS PER WEEK, OTHER SESSIONAL WORKING PATTERNS CONSIDERED. Due to one of our Salaried GP's taking up a new and exciting opportunity abroad, an opportunity has arisen for a GP to join our friendly, progressive and efficient practice team. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, team player, for 6 sessions per week. Salary negotiable dependent on experience. We are a practice that encourages a wide skill mix across the whole clinical workforce, and expect all clinical team members to work collaboratively. Main duties of the job: We are looking for a dynamic, professional and friendly GP to join our practice team to continue to deliver the high standard of clinical care we currently provide. The post holder must be dedicated, responsible, and driven to contribute to the innovative and forward-thinking practice direction, and be a key team player. They must have an awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. safeguarding, prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety etc. Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude are essential.

Contract: Mix of routine work, on-call 10 minutes appointments. Typical working day would aim to finish no later than 6/6.30pm. Preferable working days would be discussed on appointment. Some evening and weekend may be required occasionally. Flexibility around start and end times is essential.

About us: We are a practice close to historic Shrewsbury town centre with easy access to the motorway network. We are a forward-thinking practice with 10,000 patients and are committed to providing them with high-quality care. We are a close working team which comprises of 4 GP partners, two salaried GPs, 2 Advanced Clinical Practitioners, 3 Practice Nurses, 1 General Practice Assistant, and a team of dedicated Care Navigators who support our clinical team on a daily basis. We also have a range of Primary Care Network Advanced Role staff that support us. We have an experienced and very supportive administrative team led by our Practice and Deputy Manager. We use Emis Web and Anima. We are part of Shrewsbury Primary Care Network and Darwin Health Ltd.

Duties and Responsibilities: The duties of the post are to provide a full range of general medical services as contained within the GMS contract. The post holder is expected to support the Partners of Mytton Oak Medical Practice in providing all services outlined in the GMS Core Contract and also in the aims and objectives of the Practice. The post holder is expected to support and input into the aims of the practice in areas of clinical governance, good practice, quality outcomes framework, enhanced services, practice audit, referral review and any other improvement plans as determined by the practice. The post holder is encouraged to utilise and develop any additional skills for the improvement of services to patients. The post holder is expected to maintain and keep good standards of computerised clinical records at all times. Full involvement in any practice training and ongoing requirements of our status as a paperless practice is expected. The post holder is expected to maintain and keep good standards of timekeeping and paperwork.

• Experience
• Interest and qualifications in Women’s Health
• Qualifications
• Fully qualified GP with GMC registration
• Evidence of annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate)
• General practice (Vocational Training Scheme) trained
• On/eligible to be on a medical performers list
• Enhanced CRB/DBS check
• UK driving license
• Current CPR certificate
• UK work permit (if required)
• Evidence of continued professional development
• Other Post Graduate Diplomas
