This is a full-time, remote Founding Full-Stack Engineer (Mobile-Led) role, UK-based, with our HQ in East London. Working directly with the CTO, you'll take a finished, high-fidelity product design and a live sign-up site and build the product that takes it to market owning the full stack from mobile front-end to server-side logic.
Daily tasks include:
- Implementing mobile UI from high-fidelity designs
- Building and optimizing RESTful APIs
- Integrating Stripe (including Stripe Connect for marketplace payments) and other third-party services
- Ensuring performance, security, and scalability of the platform
- Working closely with the CTO to refine requirements and unblock delivery
- Holding quality firm as the team moves toward launch
- Owning the engineering decisions that matter: architecture, testing, documentation, CI/CD
- Troubleshooting with clarity
- Writing clean and well-documented code
- Supporting deployment and release processes
Qualifications:
- Strong full-stack development skills, with a track record of shipping end-to-end web or mobile applications
- Proficiency in cross-platform mobile development, React Native or Flutter
- Back-end experience in one or more server-side frameworks (Node.js, Python, Java, .NET), with solid RESTful API design
- A firm grasp of relational or NoSQL databases, data modelling and query optimisation
- Experience integrating payment systems, ideally Stripe Connect
- Working knowledge of Git, modern build tooling, testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
- The ability to write code the next person can actually read and reason about
- Clear, direct communication and the ability to operate effectively in a small, fast-moving team
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience
Especially valuable: experience building marketplace or two-sided platform products, or prior work in the service, construction or trades industries.
