Location: Bromley, Beckenham, Biggin Hill and Orpington

Salary: Β£16.50 per hour (Level 2 Qualified)

Job Type: 12.5 hours Fixed Term (until end of December 2024)

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver the β€˜Learn to Swim’ Programme (L2S), teaching a wide range of ages and abilities, encouraging participation and progression through effective planning, organisation, and coaching.
  • Understand and deliver sessions based on the expected standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Assess participants' abilities regularly, ensuring they meet developmental outcomes, and facilitate their progression.
  • Sign out the iPod before sessions and sign in after, managing registers and reporting issues.
  • Maintain and use equipment responsibly, reporting faults or maintenance needs.
  • Address customer, parent, or guardian queries or complaints by directing them to reception.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the L2S programme through feedback.
  • Promote safe conduct and usage of the pool area, adhering to pool rules and safety procedures.
  • Ensure health and safety for yourself, colleagues, and participants, complying with policies and legislative requirements.
  • Follow all MTA policies and demonstrate commitment to company values and objectives.
  • Follow safeguarding policies and report child protection concerns.
  • Attend development sessions and participate in meetings and reviews as required.
  • Perform additional duties, including administrative tasks, as directed by the Swimming Coordinator.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Significant experience in a swimming pool environment.
  • Hold an ASA or Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification.
  • Ideally hold or be willing to undertake NRASTC or NPLQ qualification; other aquatic discipline qualifications are desirable.

Additional Information

  • The swimming term is 50 weeks per year.
