Play Leader – Beckenham & Penge Position: Play Leader (known as Childcare Leader internally) Locations: Penge/Beckenham Job Type: Part time 18.25 per week per week ( 2:45pm – 6pm on site, plus 2 hours admin) – term time only (38 Weeks) or 30.25 hours per week (7:00am – 9:00 am & 2:45pm-6pm plus 4 hours admin) – term time only (38 weeks) Top up hours available through other roles throughout the business Salary £13.00 p.h , Plus Benefits If you have a childcare qualification to at least Level 3 standard or equivalent and experience of looking after children of all ages, you could be just the person we need to keep our kids safe and happy! As well as managing the day-to-day staffing, finance and facility. We will look to you to create and develop some exciting new children’s activity concepts. After all, at the end of the day we want them going home saying they’ve had a great time. To succeed, you’ll need to be friendly and approachable, with great interpersonal, organisational and time management skills. You’ll need to have knowledge of Child Development, OFSTED, Safeguarding (Level 3 DSO qualified), Health and Safety and First Aid. Not afraid to get your hands dirty, you’re a genuinely fun, ‘can-do’ team player, ideally with some managerial experience gained working in a childcare facility. These roles are part time, but if you’re looking to increase your hours we have a wide variety of roles around the business outside of your club hours, Including: soft play, day camps, swimming teacher and more! What skills we are looking for: A willingness to learn and develop; Demonstrate a passion for providing children with positive experiences; Professional attitude and desire to deliver an excellent childcare service; Excellent communication skills, including the ability to appropriately promote the positive behaviour of children where necessary; Energetic and enthusiastic; A can-do attitude and a real focus on customer service; Flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the business, you will be required from 7am-9am and from 2:45pm – 6pm (term time only) Your Main duties: To be the Designated Safeguarding Officer and ensure suitable child protection training is sourced and delivered to staff. This includes ensuring there is always a suitably trained safeguarding officer on site at all times throughout service delivery Accountable for all children and employees within the setting, ensuring that agreed child: staff ratios are always met. This includes facilitating support from additional sites or casual staff in the event of employee absences Effectively communicating with key people involved in the delivery of the service and the children’s wellbeing, this includes parents, teachers, head teacher, Ofsted, SENCO, LADO etc. Undertake appropriate training and adhere to company policy and procedures, assisting with the updating and developing of relevant policies and procedures To ensure all children have a designated key worker and a personal file Ensure the children receive a choice of healthy refreshments whilst maintaining hygiene, health and safety standards at all times. This includes sourcing relevant training Accountable for all administration tasks required including record keeping, including staff and child records, data logs, ordering and purchasing Administering first aid when necessary and being responsible for ensuring all records of accidents and incidents are correctly logged, stored and monitored.
