Cardiac Rehabilitation Instructor – Bromley Position: Cardiac Rehabilitation Instructor Location: Bromley area Salary: 15.48 – 17.55 per hour Job Type : Fixed term contract – from February 2025 to end of September 2025 Hours: 9 hours per week Closing date: 17th February 2025 We are looking for an experienced Cardiac Rehabilitation and Exercise on Referral specialist Instructor to join our established Active Lifestyle team. We have availability to run 2 of our Cardiac Rehabilitation sessions and 1 of our Exercise on Referral sessions. Please note: You must possess a current BACPR Level 3/4 qualification to apply for this role and have a First Aid qualification including CPR and AED training. Key Duties Conduct initial appointments and inductions on the Active Lifestyles Fresh Start and/or Heartsmart Exercise Referral scheme in accordance with national guidelines. Plan, prescribe, implement, monitor and evaluate a suitable exercise programme and physical activity plan using either fixed gym equipment or a circuit class with appropriate equipment. Appropriately progress the clients individualised exercise programme and technique, taking into account medical conditions/chronic diseases and progression/regression. Complete client reviews at set intervals and record data using the Active Lifestyles monitoring paperwork and database in line with key performance indicators. Complete all appropriate scheme administration and monitoring forms to ensure operating procedures are adhered to. Motivate and encourage participants to adhere to regular physical activity and exercise programmes both at home and in Mytime Active leisure centres underpinned by theoretical application of behaviour change techniques. Attend Exercise Specialist update meetings and training on a regular basis. Contribute to the development of the Exercise Referral scheme through feedback, support, and promotion. Knowledge Knowledge of health-related benefits of regular physical activity for healthy adults and special populations. Understanding of common medical conditions/chronic diseases (or Long-Term Conditions) encountered on a typical cardiac rehabilitation and exercise referral scheme and the necessary programming adaptations. Comprehension of the behavioural change model and strategies to ascertain a patient\’s position within the continuum. Be able to demonstrate ability to take and record physical measurements including Blood Pressure and Manual Pulse. Qualifications You must possess a current BACPR Level 3/4 qualification. You must have a First Aid qualification including CPR and AED training.
