Job Description

Position:ArtsTrain Programme Manager (Maternity Cover)

Location:Bromley/London area

Salary:circa £34,000 per annum (pro rata)

Job Type: Fixed term contract – from Mid-February 2025 to February 2026

Hours:24 hours per week

Key Duties

  • To develop an annual ArtsTrain Activity Plan, Investment Plan and Risk Register, through which a coherent and exciting ArtsTrain creative music programme for young people aged 11-25 years is managed and delivered.
  • To work with artists, education, community, and creative industry partners to maximise the opportunities for young people.
  • To line manage the ArtsTrain Programme Coordinator & Producer.
  • To recruit and manage a team of Creative Practitioners / Music Leaders and consultants to the programme.
  • To build new and maintain existing relationships with ArtsTrain project partners, leading on communication, project and event planning
  • To monitor, review and evaluate the programme, coordinating the collection of both qualitative and quantitative programme data and recruiting an evaluation partner for more in-depth evaluation as and when required.
  • To report and profile ArtsTrains achievements through quarterly progress reports to the ArtsTrain Steering Group and disseminate internally and externally to other relevant partner organisations.
  • To attend project sessions to observe and monitor Music Leaders, report back on progress and provide feedback.
  • To provide performance opportunities for young people through partner events and / or planning and curating showcases.
  • To oversee the programmes marketing, audience development and online / digital presence, writing copy where necessary for reports, newsletters, and online content.
  • To monitor income and expenditure against an annual ArtsTrain budget and give a quarterly overview of finances to the ArtsTrain Steering Group.
  • To make applications to external funding organisations, including Arts Council England to ensure the continuation and development of ArtsTrain.
  • To represent and act as ambassador for the ArtsTrain programme at external events.
  • To keep up to date with local, regional and national policy, ensuring ArtsTrains practices are relevant and adhere to guidance.

Knowledge/Experience

  • Knowledge of good practice in participatory work and an understanding of co-creative process
  • Knowledge and understanding of the issues facing young people and developing artists
  • Experience of working with artists and creating participatory music projects.
  • Experience of event producing
  • Experience of working with a range of education/ third sector/ arts organisation partners
