Overview
In this role you will support commercial and cost management for utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from London.
You will work closely with engineering, procurement, tender and project teams to ensure accurate quantities, robust pricing and aligned commercial assumptions.
You drive cost control, tender pricing and value optimization to safeguard margins on renewables projects.

Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (Bo Q) and Bills of Materials (Bo M) from engineering designs for Solar PV and BESS
- Develop cost estimates, budgets and pricing schedules aligned with project scope and tender requirements
- Review designs and project docs to validate quantities and commercial assumptions
- Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement and Tender teams on quantities, specifications and pricing
- Analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations to support competitive project pricing
- Identify cost risks and value engineering opportunities to optimise costs and margins
- Support Tender Manager in pricing strategies and tender competitiveness
- Document costings traceably and ensure compliance with internal standards and client requirements
- Support tender reviews, commercial assessments and post-bid analysis to improve estimating processes
- Maintain cost databases, benchmarks and standard pricing tools for Solar PV, BESS and related infra
- Coordinate with project and site teams to understand construction requirements, quantities and cost implications
- Support the wider commercial team with cost analysis during project delivery
- Key requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Estimating or similar
- Proven experience on Solar PV, BESS or large-scale renewable projects
- Solid understanding of construction costs, quantities, pricing, subcontractor procurement and commercial risk
- Experience preparing Bo Qs, Bo Ms, cost estimates and tender pricing
- Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering background highly desirable
- On-site construction or renewables project experience preferred
- Experience across UK and Ireland tenders and projects
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent Excel and commercial reporting skills with complex cost data
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management across multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet tight tender/project deadlines
