We are currently looking for a QA/QC Engineer Electrical to join our EGL1 team as part of the Thermal Power & HVDC division of Metlen Energy & Metals, based in Newcastle.

Your role will encompass: Ensure compliance with project HSE standards.

Support and report to the Site QA/QC Manager on all quality matters.

Implement and improve the Project Quality Plan, specs, procedures, ITPs, and method statements.

Issue RFIs and maintain inspection progress records.

Verify inspections are correctly carried out per ITPs with calibrated equipment.

Prepare and maintain quality records; report non‑conformities.

Inspect incoming electrical materials/equipment and verify compliance.

Monitor proper preservation and handling of equipment.

Check cable laying, routing, ID, and terminations.

Perform electrical inspections (visual, dimensional, rating/material checks).

Inspect major electrical equipment (e. g., transformers, switchgear, panels).

Carry out loop checks, continuity, insulation resistance tests.

Update as‑built drawings.

Verify calibration of instruments.

Inspect instrument installations, tubing, leak tests.

Verify fiber‑optic installations.

Collect and manage inspection/test documentation; prepare turnover packages.

Join final walkdowns and track punch‑list closure.

What you bring to the role:5–7 years’ experience in electrical QA/QC for Power Plants, HVDC or O&G projects.

BSc in Electrical Engineering Experience with completion systems (walkdowns, punch list, turnover).

Exposure to high‑voltage electrical installations and drives.

Strong knowledge of electrical/instrumentation standards (BS/IEC/ISO/API/ATEX/EEMUA).

Understanding of safety regulations.

Good MS Office skills.

Excellent written and spoken English.
