A technical leadership role for a senior solar designer who wants their expertise to shape how a business delivers. Myriad Products is a well-established renewable energy business with over 20 years' experience delivering commercial and industrial renewable energy systems. As our C&I pipeline continues to grow, we are looking for a Senior Solar PV Design Engineer to take full technical ownership of design across our commercial and industrial portfolio.
Design is central to how Myriad delivers — and this role sits at the heart of that. You'll be the technical authority on design, working closely with the operations and delivery teams to ensure that what gets built reflects the quality and rigour of what was designed. Like everyone in a growing business, you'll occasionally find yourself contributing beyond your core remit — but design is what this role is built around, and that's where you'll spend the majority of your time.
The Role
You will be the technical design authority for Myriad's commercial and industrial solar PV projects, responsible for producing and owning designs from initial concept through to construction‑ready output. Working closely with the operations and delivery teams, you will ensure that every design is technically robust, standards‑compliant and buildable — bridging the gap between engineering principles and real‑world installation requirements.
Your work will include:
- Leading the design of commercial and industrial solar PV systems across a range of scales and site types
- Producing detailed designs using Revit and IFC‑based workflows, to the standard expected of a professional engineering business
- Ensuring designs are fully compliant with relevant standards, grid requirements and regulatory frameworks — and that compliance is demonstrably embedded in the design, not just signed off at the end
- Producing and reviewing technical documentation including single‑line diagrams, equipment schedules, string layouts, shading analysis and yield assessments
- Working with the delivery team to ensure seamless handover from design to construction
- Contributing to design reviews, technical queries and value engineering exercises as required
About You
You are a technically confident solar PV designer with a track record of delivering high‑quality C&I designs. You care about doing things properly — about the integrity of the design, not just the speed of output.
You will have:
- Significant experience designing commercial and industrial solar PV systems using PV Sol or similar systems
- Proficiency in Revit and IFC workflows — you use these tools as a matter of course, not as a box‑tick
- A thorough working knowledge of relevant standards and the ability to apply them meaningfully to real designs
- Strong technical documentation skills and a meticulous approach to compliance and quality
- The confidence to be the technical authority in a room — with clients, contractors and colleagues
You must also:
- Be within commutable distance of Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire to work onsite at times (hybrid working)
- Already hold the unrestricted right to work in the UK (not a graduate or time‑limited visa)
Why Join Myriad Products
Design at the centre of what you do — with a strong and growing C&I pipeline providing real variety across project scale and site type. An established business with 20+ years of delivery experience behind you. The freedom to set the technical standard and be the engineering authority within the design function. A small, fast-moving business where your work has immediate and visible impact. A company that values technical excellence and gives senior engineers the space to do their best work.
If you're a senior solar PV designer looking for a role where technical quality drives everything — and where your expertise shapes how a growing business delivers — this is worth exploring.
