A senior, hands-on maintenance role in an essential industry. This is a stable, long-term role working on critical industrial and commercial heating and combustion systems within a well-established, technically strong engineering business. Myriad Products is a commercially and technically robust engineering company with over 20 years’ experience delivering and supporting industrial and commercial heating and power systems. The business has a long-standing reputation for doing things properly – technically, operationally, and commercially.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Maintenance Engineer to provide specialist service, maintenance, and fault-finding support across our biomass portfolio, with the opportunity to work on and develop expertise in incineration systems as part of a growing service offering.

The role

This is a hands-on engineering role, not a desk-based or purely supervisory position.

Key areas of work:

  • Industrial and commercial biomass boilers
  • Industrial heating and combustion plant, including incineration equipment and associated waste-handling systems
  • Fuel feed, combustion, control, and emissions-related plant

You will provide planned servicing, breakdown response, fault-finding, and operational support, acting as a senior technical presence on site. While you will not be expected to arrive with a team to lead, you will use your experience to support standards, share knowledge, and help develop service capability as senior colleagues approach retirement. Full training will be provided on specific incinerator equipment where required. This is a field-based role involving travel across England and Wales.

Why this role is different:

  • Work in essential infrastructure sectors with consistent, long-term demand
  • Join an established and resilient business with over 20 years of operation
  • Take on a senior, trusted position with real technical responsibility
  • Remain hands-on and technically involved, not desk-bound
  • Work across a technically varied range of plant, including biomass, combustion systems, controls, and incineration

What you’ll be doing:

  • Servicing, fault-finding, and repairing industrial and commercial biomass boilers and combustion systems
  • Providing breakdown cover and scheduled maintenance support
  • Diagnosing combustion, fuel feed, emissions, and control system issues
  • Carrying out electrical and mechanical fault-finding to component level
  • Supporting commissioning and major service activities where required
  • Completing all service reports, safety documentation, and compliance records clearly and on time
  • Working safely and professionally on customer sites at all times

About you:

  • Proven experience working on industrial or commercial heating and combustion systems
  • Strong practical combustion knowledge
  • Electrical and mechanical fault-finding capability
  • Basic understanding of PLC / HMI-controlled systems
  • Multi-skilled engineer with a recognised mechanical or electrical qualification
  • Comfortable working independently in the field and as part of a wider team
  • Holds a full UK driving licence
  • Fully eligible to work in the UK with no restrictions

Experience that would be an advantage:

  • Experience with biomass boiler manufacturers such as Froling, ETA, Herz, Binder, Hargassner, Heizomat, HDG, KWB, ABI
  • Experience with industrial or commercial incinerator systems
  • Commissioning of industrial plant
  • Emissions monitoring systems
  • Basic welding, plumbing, or pipefitting
  • Health & Safety qualifications such as IOSH or NEBOSH

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary reflecting seniority, plus overtime including travel time (door to door)
  • Company vehicle, mobile phone, and expenses
  • Company pension after probation
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Opportunities to cross-train into solar PV and heat pump technologies if desired
