Myriad Products is a well-established renewable energy engineering company with over 20 years' experience. As the business grows, we're strengthening our finance team and looking for an Assistant Finance Manager who wants to develop into a Finance Manager.

You’ll work closely with our Financial Controller, taking increasing ownership of the day-to-day finance function while developing broader experience across management accounts, cash flow, forecasting, budgeting and financial control.

This isn't a narrow accounting role. It's an opportunity to become a genuinely rounded finance professional and build the experience you need to progress.

The Role

You’ll take responsibility for much of the day-to-day financial activity within the business, with the Financial Controller there to provide support and help you develop into the broader role.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing day-to-day accounts payable and receivable activity
• Bank reconciliations and general ledger postings
• Managing prepayments, accruals, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Assisting with cash-flow reporting, forecasts and budgets
• Setting up and processing weekly and monthly payments
• Supporting VAT returns, CIS submissions and payroll
• Working with operational teams to manage and reconcile stock across systems
• Providing cover across the finance function where required
• Helping improve finance systems, controls and processes as the business develops

As your capability grows, so will the level of responsibility you take on.

About You

You don't need to be a Finance Manager already.

In fact, this role is particularly suited to someone who has developed a good accounting foundation and now wants the opportunity to step up towards Finance Manager level.

You might currently be working as a:

• Management Accountant
• Senior Finance Assistant
• Finance Officer

The exact job title matters less than what you can do and your appetite to develop.

You will have:

• Strong practical accounting knowledge
• Experience with reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments
• Good Excel skills and confidence using finance software and systems
• Strong attention to detail and accuracyThe ability to organise your own workload and manage deadlines
• A practical, hands-on approach
• The confidence to investigate problems and work things out rather than waiting to be shown every step

Full right to work in the UK with no restrictions (we are not able to sponsor work permits)

Experience with Sage 50 Accounts would be particularly useful.

An AAT qualification, or progress towards ACCA or CIMA, would also be valuable, although practical ability and your desire to develop are just as important.

Your Route to Finance Manager

Location

This role is based full-time onsite at Myriad Products in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.

You should therefore already live within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate.

You must also already have the unrestricted right to work in the UK. Myriad is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
