A rewarding and stable career in an essential industry. This is an opportunity to take a senior, hands-on engineering role in an essential, regulated sector that provides long-term stability and meaningful work. Myriad Products is expanding into incinerator service and maintenance as a new business line, supporting critical public and veterinary services. We’re looking for an experienced Lead Service Engineer to take technical ownership of day-to-day service delivery – someone who brings strong field engineering judgement and the experience to help develop capability over time.
THE ROLE
As Lead Service Engineer – Incinerators, you will take senior technical responsibility for the servicing, fault-finding, and repair of industrial and commercial incinerator systems operated by our customers. This is a field-based role where you will work directly with sites, act as the technical escalation point for complex issues, and contribute to the development of a robust, scalable service offering. You will combine hands-on engineering with senior responsibility – mentoring other engineers, helping shape service procedures, and ensuring work is carried out safely, compliantly, and to a consistently high standard. Full training will be provided on the specific incinerator equipment and systems used by our customers, supported by Myriad’s established service and maintenance processes.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Servicing, fault-finding, and repairing industrial and commercial incinerator equipment and associated plant
- Diagnosing complex electrical, mechanical, combustion, and control-related faults
- Acting as the technical escalation point for service engineers
- Supporting the development of service procedures and technical documentation
- Building professional, trusted relationships with customer sites
- Supporting breakdown cover, planned servicing, and major service activities
- Working safely at all times and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and regulatory requirements
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You’ll be an experienced, multi-skilled service engineer who is comfortable taking responsibility in the field and working professionally in sensitive, regulated environments. You may come from an incinerator background, or from closely related industrial or combustion-based technologies, such as:
- Biomass boilers or biomass plant
- Industrial gas- or oil-fired boilers
- Thermal oxidisers or afterburners
- Industrial furnaces or kilns
- Waste-to-energy or other high-temperature, safety-critical plant
What matters most is a strong foundation in combustion systems, industrial controls, and hands-on service engineering.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Practical experience with combustion systems
- Electrical and mechanical fault-finding capability
- Understanding of PLC-based control systems
- Experience operating in a senior or lead service engineering role
- Recognised mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills
- Full UK driving licence and unrestricted right to work in the UK
WHAT WE OFFER
- Full-time, permanent contract
- Competitive salary reflecting senior responsibility
- Overtime paid, including travel time (door to door)
- Company vehicle, mobile phone, and expenses
- Company pension (after probation)
- 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays
- Opportunity to cross-train into biomass, solar PV, and heat pump technologies if desired
LOCATION
Field-based role covering the South of England (ideally M4 corridor), with travel to customer sites as required.
WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT
This is not about selling or manufacturing equipment. It’s about applying strong service and maintenance expertise to support essential infrastructure – with the chance to help shape how a new service capability develops inside a stable, experienced business.
