Build your engineering career in renewable energy - with real projects, real responsibility, and real impact. Myriad is a renewable energy business with over 20 years’ heritage, originally in biomass and now entering a major growth phase in commercial and industrial solar PV. After several years building a strong project pipeline, we are expanding our design and project delivery capability and are looking for a Graduate Engineer to join our team.

The role

You’ll join Myriad’s design and project management team, working closely with the Operations Director and experienced engineers to support the delivery of commercial and industrial solar PV projects. Your focus will be on learning how solar projects are designed, costed, planned, and delivered end-to-end, with an emphasis on commercial and industrial installations, alongside some large‑scale residential new‑build developments.

What you’ll learn

  • You will be trained and supported to produce electrical designs for commercial and industrial solar PV projects.
  • Use PVSol for system design and costing.
  • Understand how design decisions affect cost, compliance, and buildability.
  • Support project planning and feasibility.
  • Work with project managers and subcontractors across the full project lifecycle.

Why this is a great graduate opportunity

You’ll gain real responsibility from day one, close mentoring in a small experienced team, exposure to the full project lifecycle, and a clear development path into a Design Engineer or Project Engineer role within a growing renewable energy business.

About you

You are likely a recent or soon‑to‑be graduate in electrical or mechanical Engineering from a top university, interested in renewable energy and practical engineering, detail‑oriented, and keen to learn. Prior solar experience is not required.

Based in Melton Mowbray with hybrid working supported. Applicants must have full, unrestricted right to work in the UK (rather than just a 2‑year graduate visa). Myriad does not hold a UK work permit sponsorship licence and is unable to sponsor visas for this role.

If you want to start your engineering career in renewables, work on meaningful projects, and grow with a company that’s serious about doing things properly, we’d love to hear from you.
