First 6–12 Months
- Deliver several key roadmap projects (e.g. AI‑powered matching/recommendation engine, financial education experiences and partner integrations)
- Improve performance and scalability of core services to handle spikes in concurrent users and heavy read/write loads
- Strengthen our CI/CD and deployment processes so we can ship faster with confidence
- Implement better observability: monitoring, logging and alerting to protect and improve user experience
- Help define engineering standards, reusable patterns and documentation for future hires
Responsibilities
- Backend & API development — Design and build scalable, cloud‑based services and APIs for web and mobile clients.
- Architecture & scalability — Contribute to system design, database schema and optimisation to support growth and unreliable networks.
- Code quality & testing — Write clean, well‑structured, well‑tested code; review others’ work; champion reusable patterns and components.
- Cloud & DevOps — Work within our AWS environment; contribute to infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines and deployment best practices.
- Product collaboration — Work with founders, UX and data to scope features, refine requirements, estimate work and keep delivery on track.
- Monitoring & reliability — Help define and implement performance metrics, monitoring and alerting to maintain stability and quickly address issues.
