As a Technical Operations Manager, you will develop, implement, and maintain cutting-edge automated and intelligent solutions to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and security of business operations. This role is focused on replacing manual, repetitive tasks with intelligent, scalable adaptive workflows based on data-driven system analysis. Familiar with systems design, you will enable teams across the organisation to focus on higher-value, more complex challenges, significantly boosting productivity and business outcomes. Your key focus needs to be transforming Mypinpad, with a lot of manual processes, to one where errors are reduced (eliminated) systematically and throughput is enhanced. You are familiar with all tools and techniques required to right-size operations, including, but not limited to, monitoring tools, error-detection, maintenance, process optimisation, six-sigma (or equivalent), machine learning and AI. You have a good working knowledge of cloud systems, APIs, Kafka, micro-services architecture and are able to provide feedback into engineering and product design to improve operational management.
Requirements
- Experienced Operations Manager with a proven track record in systems thinking and automation.
- Programming and scripting: Ability to develop scripts across a range of systems including cloud management and AI systems. Python is essential along with other languages like JavaScript, Java, or R is recommended.
- AI/Machine Learning: Hands-on experience with AI and machine learning concepts, including an understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
- AI/ML frameworks: Familiarity with AI and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, LangChain, or other relevant libraries.
- Automation tools: Strong knowledge of traditional automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Firebase, Apache JMeter) and experience with no-code/low-code platforms (e.g., N8N, Zapier).
- System and cloud expertise: Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and a solid understanding of web applications, APIs, databases (SQL, vector databases), and DevOps practices.
- Data proficiency: Strong capabilities in data manipulation, data modelling, and analysis to prepare data for AI models and extract actionable insights.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities: Exceptional critical thinking to diagnose complex issues and design innovative, data-driven solutions.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders across the business.
- Adaptability and continuous learning: The ability to stay current with the rapidly evolving landscape of AI technologies and methodologies.
- Problem-solving: A proactive and methodical approach to troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience as an Operations Manager, AI Engineer, or in a similar role that combines automation and AI.
- A portfolio of relevant AI-powered automation projects is highly desirable.
