Initial 6 Month Contract Outside IR35 set up Leatherhead, Surrey – 3 days per week in office and 2 days per week working from home. 2 Marine Designers are required to support a large Oil & Gas company on an initial 6 month contract basis that will be outside IR35 and offer a flexible hybrid working setup.

As a Senior Designer, you will support the Marine Team, liaise with other disciplines, and work with clients and vendors. Coordinating and working with project team members across global offices to deliver tasks within allotted timelines and budgets.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Marine Team and liaise with other disciplines and stakeholders
  • Coordinate project tasks with global project team members to meet timelines and budgets
  • Proficiently use Aveva Marine software and provide guidance to junior designers
  • Manage a team of designers working remotely
  • Create project-specific job notes, guides and training material to support consistent deliverables
  • Organize schedules and resources within the team to achieve deliverables to project deadlines
  • Break project tasks down to drawing level and estimate resources required to complete milestones
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Identify priorities and address emerging urgent issues with agility
  • Work effectively both independently and in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Office-based availability as part of the role
Qualifications
  • Marine and Structural Designer with a formal qualification or on-the-job training
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Marine Designer
  • Proficient in Aveva Marine with ability to advise/guidance to junior designers
  • Ability to manage a remote design team
  • Experience in creating project notes, guides and training material
  • Experience organizing schedules and resources to meet project deadlines
  • Strong planning and resource estimation capabilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong prioritization, adaptability and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Office-based work capability
