One of our leading clients is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor with active membership MRICS / FRICS / RICS / AssocRICS or similar. Location: Main base/office location is Peterborough/Cambridgeshire with projects running up to York, so will be some site visits along the A1 covering East Midlands, Lincolnshire, Yorkshire.
Initial 3-month contract to start ASAP at Β£500 - Β£600 per day Inside IR35. Must be based local to Peterborough (within 1 hour).
You will be responsible for all financial and contractual aspects of construction projects, providing cost estimation and planning, contract management, financial oversight, risk management, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. You will support tender evaluation, negotiate contracts, audit contractor records, and prepare detailed reports to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Experience:
- Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor / QS / Commercial Manager with active membership MRICS / FRICS / RICS / AssocRICS
- NEC4 contract experience
- Large scale construction / engineering projects
- Commercial support managing and administering all contractual relationships including procurement and site teams
- Contract Management: manage multiple contracts within a defined portfolio ensuring project and site team understand contractual arrangements
- Financial Management: manage spend to date and forecast spend in line with contract terms
- Risk Management: support the risk management process and the continual development of the Risk Register with the PM
- Tender evaluation: support the evaluation and negotiation process, providing professional advice
- Dispute Resolution: Lead dispute resolution efforts by providing professional advice
- Reporting: ensure all contracts are properly administered professionally, and all relevant stakeholders are kept informed of all commercial issues
Desirable: Any exposure to sectors such as Utilities / Energy / Power industry sector (Gas / Electricity / Water / Nuclear etc).
