Are you organised, practical, and passionate about supporting outstanding science education? Sunbury Manor School is seeking a dedicated and proactive Senior Science Technician to join our successful Science Department.


This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of engaging and inspiring science lessons. You will be responsible for managing the department's technical resources, preparing equipment and materials for practical activities, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring laboratories and preparation rooms operate safely and efficiently.


As Senior Science Technician, you will:



  • Prepare and organise equipment, chemicals and resources for practical science lessons and demonstrations.

  • Manage the storage, maintenance and ordering of science equipment and consumables.

  • Ensure laboratories and preparation areas are safe, organised and fully compliant with health and safety requirements, including COSHH regulations.

  • Maintain stock records and support budget management through effective resource control.

  • Carry out minor repairs and coordinate maintenance or replacement of equipment where necessary.

  • Support teaching staff in the delivery of practical science and assist with demonstrations when required.

  • Contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of a busy and successful Science Department.


We are looking for an individual who:



  • Has a good general education, including GCSE English, Maths and Science (or equivalent).

  • Holds a relevant Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience.

  • Has knowledge of science techniques and laboratory practices.

  • Understands health and safety procedures, including COSHH requirements.

  • Can work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Has excellent organisational and communication skills.

  • Is enthusiastic about supporting young people to achieve their potential.
