The East SILC is a complex organisation which operates on a variety of sites to provide a range of outreach services across the city, including partnerships with primary and secondary providers, the city-wide Physical Difficulties and Medical Service including a moving and handling service, as well as the Medical Needs Teaching Service for Leeds.

Reception and customer service
Provide a courteous, calm and professional reception service in person, by telephone and through agreed digital communication channels.
Welcome visitors, establish the purpose of their visit and follow the school’s visitor, identification, signing‑in and safeguarding procedures.
Respond to routine enquiries accurately and promptly, referring sensitive, complex or urgent matters to the appropriate colleague.
Communicate with parents, carers and professionals in a clear, respectful and accessible manner, recognising that individuals may have different communication needs.
Maintain a tidy, safe, secure and well‑organised reception and visitor area.
Receive, sort and distribute post, deliveries and messages, ensuring urgent or confidential items are handled appropriately.
The permanent posts are subject to a 6 month probationary period, to start as soon as possible.
The East SILC has a progressive staffing structure in place for teaching assistants which is supported by Continual Professional Development. A thorough induction process is in place.
