The Role: Here at Northumbria Police, we think our region is amazing! This could be the perfect time for you to join our Statutory Review Team as a Police Staff Investigator (PIP2). You will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards across complex and sensitive investigations. What will I be doing?
- Conduct statutory reviews of identified/highlighted cases to ensure compliance with organisational standards.
- Promote and uphold the highest levels of safeguarding awareness across investigations.
- Support a consistent, corporate approach to major crime and safeguarding investigations throughout the Force.
- Identify areas for improvement and highlight key findings and recommendations.
- Contribute to organisational learning by supporting the development and implementation of recommendations.
- Assist in embedding best practice and continuous improvement within investigative processes.

What you'll bring:
Essential- Professionalising Investigations Programme (College of Policing) Post holders undertaking this role will be required to be accredited to PIP Level 2.
- A knowledge of and experience in risk assessment, areas of vulnerability and public protection.
- Experience of working in a Multi-Agency Environment.
- Ability to collate, analyse and assess information to reach well-balanced conclusions.
- Ability to work effectively in a team to achieve shared objectives, demonstrating awareness of individual differences and providing support and advice as required.
- Demonstrable experience of working collaboratively within a team both internally and externally.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under own initiative to prioritise workloads and make decisions.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with a wide range of officers and staff, at all grades and ranks, with external agency professionals and with members of the public.
- The ability to produce detailed, accurate and timely written reports, which identify and assist to manage risk.
- Knowledge/understanding/experience of Statutory and Non-Statutory Reviews.
- Experience in Homicide and/or Public Protection investigations.
Successful candidates will be required to attend a first aid course.
