Dorset MYN is currently recruiting for experienced and passionate Family Help Social Workers to join high-performing Children’s Services teams in Weymouth in Dorset. This is an exciting opportunity to join an Outstanding Ofsted-rated local authority at the forefront of national reform, helping shape the future of family support through innovative, relationship-based practice.
The Opportunity:
- You will join a progressive Family Help Team supporting children and families across the full continuum of need, from early help through to court proceedings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Completing high-quality assessments and care plans
- Managing Child in Need and Child Protection plans
- Supporting pre-proceedings and court work
- Delivering direct, meaningful work with children and families
- Building resilience through restorative and strengths-based practice
- Preparing clear, evidence-based reports
- Chairing multi-agency meetings
- Working collaboratively with education, health, police and community partners
- Maintaining accurate case records
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Social Worker (Degree in Social Work or equivalent)
- Registered with Social Work England (SWE)
- Minimum 3 years’ post-qualification experience within English Local Authorities
- Strong experience within statutory children’s services
- Confident managing complex safeguarding and court work
- Excellent assessment, analytical and partnership working skills
- A resilient, compassionate and child-centred approach
- Ability to travel across Dorset as required
