Senior AI Engineer

The Opportunity

We are currently partnering with several leading technology consultancies and innovative software houses across the United Kingdom who are looking for talented Senior AI Engineers to join their growing teams. These organisations are at the forefront of the AI revolution, offering you the chance to work on high-impact projects that bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and real-world, production-grade AI solutions.

The Role

In this position, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of intelligent systems, architecting complex workflows that include LLM-based applications, RAG systems, and agentic frameworks. You will be responsible for everything from initial problem framing and prototyping to scalable deployment and continuous monitoring, ensuring that every solution meets rigorous standards for reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency. Beyond the technical build, you will act as a key collaborator and mentor, shaping engineering standards and working cross-functionally to translate complex business needs into robust, scalable AI architectures.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering or AI/ML systems development.
  • Expertise in Python and modern software engineering practices, including CI/CD, automated testing, and version control.
  • Proven experience designing and deploying production-grade LLM applications, RAG systems, and agentic workflows.
  • Strong proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerisation technologies like Docker.
  • Deep understanding of AI evaluation frameworks, system observability, and performance monitoring metrics.
  • Experience with vector databases and managing data pipelines for AI/ML systems.
  • Ability to translate complex business problems into scalable, reliable, and secure AI architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
